Those were the Days. California deported the Undocumented. Part one.

I'm going back to the glory days. Two instances that stuck in my mind. It was around 1975-76.

First one was at a restaurant in Lakewood, California. A group of us were out for dinner at a local fish house. Suddendly the staff dropped their trys and ran for the front door. Kitchen staff were right behind.

Seems as if the restaurant was using the undocumented. Well ICE was coming in the back door, but were out front tagging them as they came out.

We were allowed to finish our meal and ended up not having to pay. Sweet. Restaurant was closed for about two weeks.
